CALL FOR PARTICIPATION : LIVE CODING
Festival Radical dB, based in Zaragoza, Spain, is seaking for artists working in the field of Live Coding for the first edition of the festival on 20th-23rd of november 2014.
Selected artists will present a performance of 30 minutes plus a presentation of their work.
Artists must send a link with video of a live performance, a bio with residence adress.
Concerts will take place at brand new Centro de Arte y Tecnologia Etopia
Radical dB will provide accomodation for 1 to 3 nights on the festival, and in some extent travel and artist fees.
Artists will be proposed to be interviewed by Undae! on radio Círculo de Bellas Artes

CONCURSO INTERNATIONAL DE ARTE SONORO PERFORMATIVO
El Festival Radical dB anuncia el primer concurso internacional de arte sonoro performativo en Zaragoza (España) del 20 al 23 de Noviembre de 2014.
Los objetivos del concurso son:
Fomentar el intercambio entre artistas internacionales y locales trabajando en diferentes campos del arte sonoro perfomativo (improvisación, live-coding, circuit -bending, improvisación electroacústica, etc.)
Estimular la innovación y la experimentación en el campo de la performance sonora en relación con la tecnología (digital o analógica, alta o baja fidelidad)
Categorías:
A. Artista internacional
B. Artista local (nacido o residente en Aragón; todos los demás participantes se inscribirán en la categoría A)
REGLAMENTO
Participantes:
El concurso está abierto a todo artista/grupo trabajando en el campo de la performance en directo dando prioridad al sonido (la performance puede incluir video si se considera necesario)
Para presentarse como artista local es necesario haber nacido o ser residente en Aragón, todos los demás participantes se inscribirán en la categoría Artista internacional
Condiciones:
Los artistas finalistas se comprometerán a participar en el Festival Radical dB (fechas entre el 20 y 23 de Noviembre 2014) presentando una performance en directo con una duración máxima de 20 minutos.
Cada participante enviará un correo electrónico a info@radicaldb.es incluyendo un enlace a un vídeo de una performance en directo, una página web del artista/grupo, una biografía y una breve descripción del proyecto indicando la categoría a la que se presenta (internacional o local)
Radical dB proporcionará un sistema PA estéreo y no aceptará proyectos multicanales. Los grupos participantes deberán mezclar su propio sistema para enviar una señal estéreo al control principal
Los artistas ganadores de cada categoría estarán invitados a participar en el próximo Festival Radical dB (2015) como artistas invitados (incluyendo gastos de desplazamiento, alojamiento y caché de artista), podrán publicar un álbum en el sello colaborador del festival durante la temporada 2014/2015 y tendrán la oportunidad de ser entrevistados en emisoras de radio locales.
La organización del Festival ofrece alojamiento a los artistas finalistas pero no cubre los gastos de desplazamiento para la edición 2014 del concurso.
El jurado estará formado por artistas y programadores reconocidos a nivel internacional. El jurado seleccionará un ganador por cada categoría pudiendo declararse desiertas. La decisión será final y se anunciarán los resultados durante el Festival Radical dB.
Cada candidatura implica la aceptación de todas la reglas.

INTERNATIONAL SOUND ART PERFORMANCE COMPETITION
Radical dB Festival, will promote the 1st international competition of sound art performance in Zaragoza, Spain on 20th-23rd of November 2014.
The purposes of the competition are:
To encourage emulation and exchange between international artists and local artists working in different fields of sound art performance (improvisation, live coding, circuit bending, electroacoustic performance etc…)
To encourage innovation and experimentation in the field of sonic performance in relation with technology (digital or analogue, hi- or low-fi)
Categories:
A International artist
B Local artist (to submit as local artist, you should live or must be born in Aragon, Spain; all other artists should submit as International/National artists)
RULES
Participants:
The competition is open to any artist/ensemble working in the field of live performance with priority to sound (the performance may include video if needed).
To submit as local artist, you should live or must be born in Aragon (Spain), all other artists should submit as International artists.
Conditions:
The competition concerts, included in the Radical dB festival (20th to 23rd of November), will present all the finalists for each category. One concert for category B, and one concert for category A on the next day. Selected artists will present a set of 20 minutes maximum.
Each participant must send a mail to info@radicaldb.es including a link to a video of a live performance, a link to the webpage of the artist/ensemble, a bio and a short description of the project and the category (International or Local)
The competition will provide a stereo PA system and will not accept multichannel project. Ensembles shall provide their own mixing system in order to send a stereo signal to the main control.
The winning artists of each category will be invited to participate on the next Radical dB festival (2015) as guest artists (including all travel expenses and artist fees), will be proposed to release an album on the festival partner label during 2014/2015 season and will have opportunity to be interviewed on local radio shows.
The festival will provide accommodation for all the duration of the festival but will not support travel expenses for the 2014 edition of the competition.
The jury will be composed by internationally recognized artists and curators. The jury will award one artist/ensemble in each category. The decision shall be final. The jury will announce the results during the Radical dB Festival 2014.
Each submission of an application for the competition implies the acceptance of all the rules.
Any questions regarding these regulations and their interpretation shall be clarified by Radical dB team.
Dates:
Selected artists that will perform on the competition concerts will be announced by mid September 2014.
